Why We Love Reading Heart

This is exactly the sort of nonprofit that we love to feature on our site! Reading Heart was founded by Danay when she was, get this, eight years old. Yes, eight! A self-proclaimed bookworm, she wanted to help low income families have access to books that they wouldn’t normally have, particularly families in hospital who would have little else to do.

Danay has the proud title of being the youngest ever entrepreneur in Fresno county history! And what a great cause to champion: promoting reading and doing her part to close the literacy gap in Fresno. Use Reading Heart’s book bins to help contribute your gently used books in Fresno.

There is nothing better than the satisfaction of donating locally, when it comes to anything really, and books are no exception. By choosing to give to one of the above nonprofits, you’re going to be helping them give less fortunate individuals in the community access to books.

The great thing about the above organizations is that there are a multitude of locations, so the only real question you’ll need to ask yourself is which is the easiest to get to! Keep your books in your local community, and help inspire readers.
