Why We Love Books and a Blanket

They’ve donated over 175,000 books in the College Station area, and almost 20,000 blankets for good measure, too!

The nonprofit was conceived by sisters, Harper and Maggie. They have a really neat way of gifting books and blankets to children below the poverty line: they present them in beautiful gift baskets and truly make these kids’ days through their kindness.

In recent years, they’ve donated to Habitat for Humanity and a dyslexia school in the local area, so you know your donated books will find a home with them.

Why We Love UWBV

The United Way of Brazos Valley’s mission statement is they fight for the health, education and financial stability of every person in the Brazos Valley. Their early literacy program does wonders to get books in the hands of babies and even children in high school through their targeted annual book donation programs such as the Jingle Book Bash and Baby Bundles giveaways.

We recommend reaching out to them to find exact donation guidelines, and you can get in touch with Kat Gammon at kgammon@uwbv.org.
