Texas is known for boasting things that are bigger, but what if you’re looking to make your book collection a little smaller

Thankfully, if you’re in Arlington and the surrounding areas (Irving, Keller) and you’re looking to donate gently used books, you have an abundance of options!

Below, we list several libraries and used bookstores that would be super appreciative of any donations. There are quite a few options, so the only tough part will be deciding which organization to donate to!


Arlington Public Library Friends

How to Donate

The Arlington Library accepts donations at all locations. Box up your books and drop them off during opening hours. Most books will be given to the Friends of the Arlington Public Library to be sold at book sales.

Arlington Urban Ministries

How to Donate

This is a great nonprofit doing (literally) the Lord’s work in the Arlington community. 

The Ministry’s NU2U Resale Store sells everything from clothing to furniture, and of course, books. Any book donations are gladly accepted, and the money the store makes goes to support vital AUM charitable programs.


Friends of the Irving Public Library

The Friends’ warehouse accepts any amount of book donations at the time and address above. Local branches may also take book donations, but we recommend reaching out to them to confirm this.

The Friends of the Irving Public Library hold special book sales, the profits from which go to funding library programs. 


Friends of the Keller Library

How to Donate

This is a really cool Friends bookstore that recently opened at a new location in Keller. They accept book donations of all types here.

Again, all profits go to funding this local library. The Keller Friends say: “We especially focus on children, providing materials and financial support for programs throughout the year.”
