They accept a range of books for both kids and adults. The organization does request books are in a new or like-new condition, as they will be used in literacy programs.
How They Help
Hawaii Literacy runs 5 programs that focus on improving the literacy skills of both children and adults. They pair reading tutors with adults such as immigrants who are trying to learn English as a new language, and run a popular Bookmobile for families that travels weekly to all sorts of destinations from the Wai’anae Coast to South Kona.
This is a great opportunity to help a local nonprofit dedicated to literacy!
