Fly Into a Book

Sally will give you directions to the organization’s location within the church, or arrange a time to collect the books from your home; a very useful service!
Why We Love Fly Into a Book
They personally construct and place Little Free Libraries of their own around low income areas in Orlando, encouraging the sharing of stories and literature in these communities.
As well as this, they love getting books directly in the hands of students at title I schools and preschools, as well as giving board books to expecting mothers through “Healthy Start.” Sally and her team are doing a great job trying to eradicate book deserts in the area!

Why We Love the Florida Prison Education Project
I’ve personally spoken with some of their employees and these guys are doing a great job of getting books into the hands of incarcerated people who want to learn and better themselves, but may not have the readily available access to a good range of books.
The team there will sort through your books, then donate them to prison libraries all over Florida. Any that can’t be donated will be sold to raise money for project as a whole.
They’ve donated over 10,000 books to date!
Orlando Public Library Friends

Type of Books Accepted: Paperback and hardcover books, audiobooks, children’s books, magazines
Type of Books Not Accepted: Textbooks, more than 5 copies of any one book

How to Donate
Donations are accepted at the main library branch at the loading deck behind the library via Wall Street. Other library branches may take donations but this is unconfirmed by the Friends.
If you wish to make a larger donation (i.e. more than a few boxes of books) they ask you call the bookstore coordinator to arrange a time to drop off your boxes: (407)835-7496
Book Driver Orlando
Donation Type: Pick up from you
Type of Books Not Accepted: Magazine journals, encyclopedias, legal books, coffee table books, cookbooks, ex-library books

How to Donate
Fill out the form on the Book Driver website at the link above. They can take up to 30 boxes of books! Just ensure each box is under 35lbs in weight for pick up.
Why We Love Book Driver
They run their convenient pick up service in several other cities such as Chicago, and are amongst many organizations where you can donate books in Los Angeles.
Book Driver pass on donated books to their used bookstore at the Wildwood Antique Mall, as well as various library friends organizations in the Orlando area.
New Leaf Bookstore (Winter Park Public Library Friends)

How to Donate
The New Leaf Bookstore is located on the North side of the building. If any employees aren’t there, the main reception desk will be able to direct you where to leave your books.
There isn’t any specific guidance on which books they accept, or don’t. The bookstore looks very well stocked though, so consider most titles in good condition to be suitable for donation.

Bring in your books to exchange for cash or a store credit. They will accept up to 5 boxes of books, and are a good option if you want to get something back from your used books.
